Solu Khola (Dudh Koshi) Hydroelectric Project (SKDKHEP)
The Project

Solu Khola (Dudh Koshi) Hydroelectric Project (SKDKHEP) is a run of river (RoR) type project that lies in Solukhumbu District of Sagarmatha Zone in the Eastern Region of Nepal.

The headworks arrangement of the project is proposed at the Tinla and Kagel VDCs with project powerhouse at Maikubesi Village of Panchan VDC (Bank of Dudh Koshi River). The major structures of the project are diversion weir, undersluice, intake, underground settling basin, headrace tunnel, surge shaft, penstock pipe, powerhouse and tailrace channel.

The project utilizes a discharge of 17.65 m3/s from Solu Khola and a gross head of 580.4 m within the loop between Solu Khola and Dudh Koshi River to generate 86 MW power.

After the power production in the powerhouse, the diverted discharge is released in Dudh Koshi River. The energy generated from the project will be evacuated to the INPS at the proposed Tinla sub-station at Lammane (Approx. 15 km TL).
